It introduces students to the fundamental concepts and practices of art history by examining major methodologies and issues that shape the past, present and future of our discipline, including formalism, materiality, social art history, post-colonialism, and the analysis of gender, globalisation, and the art world. Teaching is seminar-based and centers on the discussion and critique of key art-historical texts.
