Ms. Chan\u2019s essay entitled \u201cAn Interpretation of Equestrian Holding a catapult in a Hunt by the Yuan-artist Zhao Yong\u201d demonstrated an innovative analysis supported by original primary document-based research. The jury (consisting of Dr. Koon, the department\u2019s undergraduate coordinator, Professor Clarke, and Dr. Hammers) considered Ms. Chan\u2019s paper as particularly engaging and thoughtful. The essay is available <a href=\"https:\/\/arthistory.hku.hk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Asian-Art-Essay-Prize-2015.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations go to Ms. ZOU Yifan who was awarded honorable mention for her essay \u201cMaturity of style, social network, and memory in the archaism of Wen Zhengming\u2019s 1551 Zhuo Zheng Yuan album.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Fine Arts would like to thank all students who put in extra effort to submit revised essays for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/finearts.hku.hk\/finearts\/undergraduate\/prizes\/past-winning-essays\/\">the University of Hong Kong Museum Society Asian art essay prize competition<\/a>.
