Exploring museums and exhibitions in London<\/h3>\n

Dr. Yeewan KOON<\/a> and Dr. Roslyn Hammers<\/a> led a group of Fine Arts students to the UK during the first week of December. The main focus of the trip was the Victoria & Albert Museum\u2019s exhibition \u201cMasterpieces of Chinese Painting 700-1900<\/a>\u201d and its two days conference \u201cThe Making of Chinese Painting: 700 to the Present.\u201d Students also visited the British Museum, in which they spent some time in viewing the temporary show \u201cShunga: Sex and Humour in Japanese art, 1600-1900,\u201d learning about the Sir Percival David Collection with Dr. Stacey Pierson, as well as exploring the museum\u2019s Southeast Asian storage with Dr. Alexandra Green. While students were given free time to navigate around London on their own, as a group they had a day trip to Oxford, which was sponsored by the Museum Society, to visit the Pitts River Museum and the Ashmolean Museum. A few postgraduates made yet another outing to Cambridge for a seminar at Needham Research Institute towards the end of the trip.<\/p>\n<\/div>
