At the University Museum and Art Gallery, an exhibition entitled Outside In: Alternative Narratives in Contemporary Art is being planned to complement the Rethinking Visual Narratives from Asia conference by drawing upon a number of artists whose works explore narratives in the broadest sense. It will serve as a visual exposition of how contemporary artists incorporate narrative into their work either by way of content or technique, and will augment the themes presented at the conference. As such, the exhibition will play a vital role in illustrating contemporary examples of narrative art for the general public. Events in association with the exhibition are being planned.
