There are many views in this general direction in this archive, taken from the window of my apartment. The shifting weather conditions are documented by returning to the same location (keeping one thing constant in order to foreground alterations in other things), but also changes due to construction. Here of course the focus is on the construction of the Stonecutters Bridge, but in later images (up till the end of the archive time period) there is also documentation of construction in Sheung Wan, which is barely visible in the foreground of this image due to the use of telephoto. The Nan Fung Group acquired a site on 33 Des Voeux Road West in 2013 and subsequently constructed a tall tower there which partially blocked the view of the harbour that was possible from this vantage point at the time this image was taken.
