Chao studied art in New Asia College (now a college of the Chinese University of Hong Kong) under Professor Chan See Man, Ding Yanyong and C.C. Wang, and then went abroad to study modern art at various institutes in the 1960s. She obtained her BFA degree at the Cooper Union, New York in 1969. She was the recipient of the “Award for Excellence in Painting” in the International Art Competition at Gallery 54, Soho, New York in 1988. Chao has held eleven solo exhibitions in Hong Kong and one in Shanghai. She has also participated in numerous group shows in Hong Kong since 1971. Her works may be found in the Hong Kong Museum of Art and various private collections. | |||
