Chui is a painter, writer, art critic and art teacher. He studied Chinese art and literature at the Chung Kwok College from 1962 to 1964. He had held many solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Hong Kong and overseas. He had received three awards: Chinese Painting Award, Urban Council Biennial Exhibition (1979); Artist Award, American International Art Competition (1988); Calligraphy Award, Urban Council Biennial Exhibition (1994). Chui has been active in the artistic and literary circles in Hong Kong and a member of various different groups. His works have been collected by museums in Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan and the United States.
