Chow Chun Fai was born in Hong Kong in 1980. He graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and obtained degrees in Bachelor of Arts (2003) and Master of Fine Arts (2006). His solo exhibitions include Painting, Grass, Ceiling-Paintings by CHOW Chun-Fai (Hong Kong Arts Centre, 2003), Significance Form: Paintings by CHOW Chun Fai (Grotto Fine Art, Hong Kong, 2005), and Shanghai Tan - Paintings by CHOW Chun Fai (Galleria Dell'Arco, Shanghai, 2008). He was the Artist-in-Residence of Himalayas Art Museum - Shanghai Zendai Zhujiajiao Branch (2010). Chow also took part in the Hong Kong Art Biennial Exhibition (2003), YCCA - Young Chinese Contemporary Art (Salzburg, Austria, 2005), Hong Kong International Contemporary Art Fair 2007 (Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre), Art Container Project (Hong Kong, 2008), and Biennale di Alessandria (Italy, 2011). His works have been exhibiting in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing, Singapore, Manchester, Munich, Salzburg, Vienna, Palermo, and Verona. He was the finalist of Philippe Charriol Foundation 18th Annual Art Competition (Hong Kong, 2002 and 2003). He was also the finalist (2004, 2005, and 2006) and First Prize Winner (2008) of the Sovereign Asian Art Prize (Hong Kong). In 2008 Chow received the Hong Kong Arts Centre 30th Anniversary Award Grand Prize. Chow’s artworks are collected by the Hong Kong Museum of Art, the Hong Kong Heritage Museum and other private collectors. | |||
