Lau began her creative activities in printmaking in 1975. She graduated from the Ontario College of Art in Toronto in 1976 and worked in Canada for four years. In 1988, she received a bursary from the British Council to study for an M.A. Degree at the Royal College of Art in London and graduated with distinction in 1990. Combining the use of photocopier with etching press, she introduced a new medium of printmaking through her experiments and made important progress in the transfer of laser copies onto high-grade art paper. Her works have been featured in various books, newspapers and magazines in England and Hong Kong as well as widely shown in many joint and individual art exhibitions in England, Canada, Japan, Switzerland and Hong Kong. Currently, she is a visiting lecturer at the School of Design of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. | |||||||||||||||
