Echigo Tsumari Art Triennial, Niigata 2009. If the fissures of the land are the memories of earthquakes, the lines of our palms are the reminiscence of our earlier lives. The metal branches molded after the villagers' palm lines become wind chimes ringing the song of each family. 16 families in a village in Tsunan were invited to particpate in the project spanning over one year. The project team visited the village five times for initial planning, research as well as a series of workshops with the local community.
