Kingsley Ng was born in Hong Kong in 1980 and moved to Canada in 1994. He graduated from the Ryerson University (Canada) and obtained an honours degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2003. He then received postgraduate studio art trainings in Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains (France) under renowned artists such as Alain Fleischer, Andrea Cera, Atau Tanaka and Gary Hill and graduated with highest honours (les felicitation du jury à l'unanimité) in 2005. In 2012, Kingsley Ng obtained a Master of Science degree in Advanced Sustainable Design in the University of Edinburgh (The United Kingdom). Ng’s work has been exhibited internationally including InterAccess Electronic Media Arts Centre in Canada (2003), Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique – Centre Pompidou in France (2006), Fabrica, Benetton's Communication Research Center in Italy (2006), the Hong Kong Museum of Art (2009), Echigo Tsumari Art Triennial in Japan (2009), Kunsthalle Wien in Austria (2010), Lille-Europe Pavilion in Shanghai Expo (2010), and.Osage Soho Gallery, Hong Kong (2011). Ng received a number of awards including the InterAccess Visual Arts Award (Canada, 2003), Travel Grants to Media Artists (The Canada Council for the Arts, 2006), the Hong Kong Independent Short Film & Video Gold Medal Awards (2007), Hong Kong Young Design Talent (2008), and the Hong Kong Contemporary Art Biennial Awards (2009). Ng was the artist-in-residence at Cité internationale des arts in Paris (2010).
