Nicky Runge received her B.A. (cum laude) from The University of Amsterdam and her MA and PhD at The University of Hong Kong, researching cultural policy regulations and linguistic framing of women in the professional art world. She was awarded a PGS Scholarship from The University of Hong Kong and a Cultural Research Scholarship from the Dutch VSB Foundation. Her research interests include language use in the art world, cultural policy regulations and identity and stereotype constructions surrounding women in professional art institutions and organizations. Before joining, she was a Visiting Scholar at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and Tate Britain in London. Apart from teaching, Dr. Runge also collaborates as a consultant on research, policy and exhibition projects with various organizations, such as UNHCR and Nowness Asia.
