teamLab (f. 2001) is an international art collective. Their collaborative practice seeks to navigate the confluence of art, science, technology, and the natural world. Through art, the interdisciplinary group of specialists, including artists, programmers, engineers, CG animators, mathematicians, and architects, aims to explore the relationship between the self and the world, and new forms of perception. In this session, a teamLab member will introduce teamLab’s projects and the concepts that drive their creation. The speaker will also delve into the teams behind the work and the technologies they utilize. The presentation will conclude with information on internship and employment opportunities at teamLab.
Speaker: Takeshi Yamada was born and raised in Tokyo in 1990. He studied at Durham University for one year and then graduated from Teikyo University in 2012 with a B.A. in English Literature and History. After working as a Marketing Manager in the travel industry in Zurich, he returned to Japan to work at teamLab where he is now the Director of Community Engagement.
