MA in Art History 2024-2025 is now OPEN for application HKU is the first university in Hong Kong to offer a Master of Arts in Art History. Early closure of Office & Resource Centre (Sept 29)
The Art History Office (Run Run Shaw Tower 10.33) & Resource Centre (Run Run Shaw Tower 10.29) will be closing at 4 pm on Sept 29.
Changes in Art History courses offerings
First semester: ARTH2025: Art of the Baroque ca. 1560-1720 and ARTH2072 Western architecture from Antiquity to Enlightenment will not be offered in the first semester. We will offer a different course, ARTH2087: Buddhist art of East Asia. This will be taught on Thursdays, 4:30-6:20pm. Second semester: ARTH2025: Art of the Baroque ca. 1560-1720 will be offered in the second semester, on Wednesdays, 4:30-6:20pm at CPD1.24.
Class schedule: ARTH3014 & ARTH7002 (First semester)
Dr. Angie Baecker’s courses, ARTH3014 The whys of where: an East Asian art history of imaginative geographies and ARTH7002 Art history: materials, techniques, and collections in the first semester, will start during the week of October 2. Course instruction will end at the same time as other courses (during the week of November 27).
Class schedule: ARTH2118 & ARTH4004 (Second semester)
Prof. Joshua Shannon's courses, ARTH2118 Finding “Nature”: Ecology in Western Modern Art and ARTH4004: Perspectives in Art History in the second semester, will have late starting dates. They will begin in the week of February 26 and end in the week of April 15.
