Seminar in Art History research and writing

9 credits

This course develops visual literacy and critical thinking for analyzing and interpreting the arts across diverse cultures and periods, building a rigorous foundation in art historical inquiry, theory, and discipline-specific research and research writing skills. MA students select one undergraduate course in Semester I or II and enroll at the graduate level. In addition to meeting undergraduate course requirements, MA students will participate in advanced-level tutorials and small-group discussions to deeply examine advanced additional content, methodology, and contextual analysis; they will also develop an independent postgraduate-level research project using high-level, field-specific inquiries and approaches.
