ARTH2055 & ARTH2026: No Class on Jan 21
ARTH2055 Crossing Cultures: China and the Outside World There is no class on January 21 (Tuesday 10:30am, CPD434). The first class of this course will be on January 28 (Tuesday 10:30am, CPD434). ARTH2026 The Age of Revolution: Art in Europe, 1750-1840 There is no class on January 21 (Tuesday 12:30pm, CPD434). The first class of this course will be on January 23 (Thursday 12:30pm, CPD434).
Course Changes
Please pay attention to the room change of ARTH2025 The Art of the Baroque (Monday and Thursday 2:30pm). Dr. Opher Mansour will be giving lectures in Run Run Shaw Tower 4.34, NOT the previously scheduled CPD2.14. Also, the quota has been raised to 60 places, so there are now additional slots available on this course. Dr. Alicia Weisberg-Roberts will be teaching ARTH2075 Collecting and Display in Early Modern Europe (Wednesday 2:30pm) while ARTH2057 Arts of West, Central and Southern Africa (Monday 12:30pm) has been cancelled. Exploration Abroad: “Masterpieces of Chinese Painting 700-1900”
Exploring museums and exhibitions in London Dr. Yeewan KOON and Dr. Roslyn Hammers led a group of Fine Arts students to the UK during the first week of December. The main focus of the trip was the Victoria & Albert Museum’s exhibition “Masterpieces of Chinese Painting 700-1900” and its two days conference “The Making of Chinese Painting: 700 to the Present.” Students also visited the British Museum, in which they spent some time in viewing the temporary show “Shunga: Sex and Humour in Japanese art, 1600-1900,” learning about the Sir Percival David Collection with Dr. Stacey Pierson, as well [...]
