The Fine Arts Department at the Second China Middle Period Humanities: 800-1400 conference at Leiden University, September, 2017 The Department of Fine Arts had a strong presence at the “Second China Middle Period Humanities: 800-1400” international conference that was held at Leiden University, 14-17, September 2017. This conference brought together approximately 150 scholars who conduct research on the humanities of China during the ninth to fourteenth centuries. It is a series of lectures originally given to students of ARTH2028 Vision and Crisis (2015-2016), ARTH2029 Modernity and Discontents (2015-2016), and ARTH2030 Towards the Global (2016-2017) at the University of Hong Kong. Congratulations go to Park Sae Him as the winner of the 2015-16 Asian Art Essay Prize sponsored by the University of Hong Kong Museum Society.
